BUY NOW: THE SHOPPING CONSPIRACY

Documentary Feature (2024)

Grain Media for Netflix

In 2022, I was selected for the prestigious Grierson Trust Editing Doc Lab, which partners emerging editors with a Netflix production. Through this, I was placed with Grain Media—a company I had aspired to work with since the start of my career—and spent ten months working as a Junior Editor on a feature documentary released on Netflix in summer 2024.

The film, Buy Now! The Shopping Conspiracy, directed by Nic Stacey, explores the hidden mechanisms behind modern consumerism. It investigates how major global brands deliberately encourage overconsumption through marketing psychology, product design, and corporate strategy. Drawing on testimony from former insiders at companies such as Amazon, Apple, and Adidas, the documentary reveals how consumers are kept in a constant cycle of buying—often driven by tactics like planned obsolescence and manipulative online design.

HAPPY NAKED PEOPLE

Documentary Short (2020)

Across the world, over 70 communities gather annually to cycle nude through the streets. Happy Naked People explores their passionate stand for road safety, body positivity and climate change awareness, as well as the challenges riding in the nude can present depending on your postcode.

'Happy Naked People' was created out of the challenge set by the Quarantine International Film Festival during the COVID-19 pandemic. At a time when people are disconnected physically, we wanted to use online interviews to bring together perspectives from across the globe and celebrate community and the spirit of banding together under a common cause.

TODO POR JUGAR

Documentary (2018/2019)

Carlos is 33 and living with schizophrenia. He’s also a goalkeeper and the captain of a football team. Some days, he can’t face getting out of bed. Some days, he ends up in the hospital. Yet every week he’s there for tough, rigorous training with FC Pol Positiu.

New documentary, All to Play For, follows the journey of the 18 players who form the team. Their coach, Max, is unrelenting, but he’s getting results – the team has been undefeated for two years - and in Barcelona, a city so synonymous with football, even in a local league, that’s a record worth taking notice of.

In January 2020, ‘Todo por Jugar' was broadcast on Barcelona’s public TV station, betevé.

CASAS SIN FAMILIAS

Documentary Short (2017)

In 2017, 30 million tourists descended on Barcelona, vastly outnumbering the 1.6 million residents, who were struggling to continue daily life in their city. At PAH Barcelona, Santi volunteers tirelessly to help his fellow citizens fight for housing rights amongst ever-increasing levels of evictions. Meanwhile, at home, Santi faces his own battle as his landlords convert his building into tourist apartments.

My first short film, 'Casas sin familias' was sponsored by Tourism Concern. Since its creation, it has been shown at conferences in Europe and Brazil, and led to me being asked to speak before the European Young Leaders Seminar as they brainstormed legislative changes in the travel industry.
